Title: Model United Nations

Summary: Students network with each and with schools in the countries they are representing at Model United Nations conferences around the world.

Description: Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the U.N. General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. It not only involves students in the study and discussion of global issues, but also encourages the development of skills useful throughout their lives, such as research, writing, public speaking, problem solving, consensus building, conflict resolution, and cooperation. Over the course of 50 years, hundreds of thousands of high school and college students have taken part in Model United Nations programs. Now for the first time, two organizations (iEARN and the United Nations Cyberschoolbus) have joined together to create new on-line resources to help Model UN participants prepare for conferences. One primary resource is an online space for MUN students in which they can interact with students from the countries that they are representing.
